Lake Highlands Public Improvement District (“LHPID”), February 2014 – September 2019

North Lake Highlands Public Improvement District (“NLHPID”), January 2018 – September 2019

Executive Director

  • Worked with Board of Directors and community organizations to implement strategies that improve the quality of life in in the LHPID and NLHPID by increasing public safety, enhancing public improvements, and promoting and growing community.

  • Creation, Renewal and Expansion:

    • Led the successful effort to create the NLHPID in 2017

    • Led the efforts to renew and expand the LHPID in 2015.

  • Capital and Maintenance Projects:

    • Partnered with community organizations to create vision for community branding and neighborhood gateway signage. LHPID funded the design of Skillman median gateway signage

    • Finished hardscape design for Gateway Bridge at Skillman and 635/LBJ; partnered with Skillman Corridor TIF. Gateway Bridge to be constructed as part of funded LBJ East project.

    • Oversaw maintenance of public improvements at Lake Highlands Town Center and median on the Skillman corridor.

  • Public Safety:

    • Collaborated with multiple public safety resources including the Project Safe Neighborhood team of the U.S. Attorney’s office, FBI, ATF and DEA; the Dallas Police Department; and security companies.

    • Used DPD’s ENP program to provide patrols for both PIDs including identified hot spots.

    • Partnered with NE DPD’s Neighborhood Patrol officers to host events that built relationships and trust with the community improving communication.

    • Met regularly with apartment community property managers to share concerns and information as well as bring resources to them.

  • Government Relations:

    • Negotiated management contracts with the City Attorney’s office.

    • Work with District 10 City Council Member on community initiatives.

  • Advocacy:

    • Participated in LBJ NOW advocacy to secure funding for the LBJ East expansion and Skillman/LBJ bridge.

    • Worked with District 10 CPC member to address LHPID concerns on LH Town Center PD 758 and other projects in the PID.

  • Events:

    • Hosted Sundays in the Park at Watercrest Park and Forest Lane Academy.

    • Hosted the following annual events: Teen Job Fair, Camp Sweeney Play for the Day 5k, Stronger Together, Trunk or Treat, Light Up the Highlands, and Hope for the Holidays.

  • Owned and operated the business with focus on community; interacted with customers daily; supervised and managed staff of 20-25 employees; responsible for hiring, individual performance, training, scheduling and reviews; managed annual budget of $500,000 for 10 years; negotiated contracts with vendors.
